About the role

The Tax Accountant will lead the filing of Sage Housing’s tax returns across all formats and help define the process and workflow for the business. The position will work closely with leadership and external consultants to ensure timely and accurate filings. As a stand-alone position, the role of Tax Accountant reports to the Chief Financial Officer. 

Key duties include the following:

  • Manage tax compliance for the business
  • Responsible for Corporate Tax, VAT Returns and Construction Industry related taxes
  • Prepare tax payments
  • Estimate and track tax returns
  • Complete quarterly and annual tax reports
  • Organise and update the company’s tax database
  • Recommend tax strategies that align with business goals
  • Prepare necessary paperwork for tax payments and returns
  • Share financial data with the finance department
  • Identify tax savings and suggest ways to increase profits
  • Follow industry trends and track changes related to taxes
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors
  • Forecast tax predictions to senior management

About you:

  • Proven work experience as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst or Tax Preparer
  • Experience in a range of taxes
  • Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
  • Familiarity with accounting software packages
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with and presenting to Senior Leadership teams
  • Experience working with external consultants
  • Excellent analytical and time management skills
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Keen attention to detail


  • 2.1 BSc Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar.
