Alison was CEO of the largest Housing Association in NE England until her retirement in 2016. An experienced NED, she is Vice Chairman of a regional Building Society, Director of a Trust Port and a University Governor. She is committed to the highest standards of ethical and corporate governance.
John Brace joined the Sage Board as an independent non-executive director in April 2018. He is a Chartered Accountant and former Finance Director with 25 years’ experience in the social housing sector, most recently as Chair of the Board for Cottsway Housing Association. John has considerable strategic leadership experience in both executive and non-executive roles and extensive specialist knowledge in Finance, Treasury, Risk Management, Governance and Regulation.
David Godden joined the Sage Board as an independent non-executive director in July 2019, offering over 35 years of operational and Board level experience. He is currently on the Board of NHS Property Services, a Trustee Director of the Power to Change Trust and is a member of the Imperial War Museum’s Estates Advisory Committee. Previously he was Chair of the in-house Repairs and Maintenance business at the Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing Association. David has proven strategic and operational leadership skills and is committed to developing enduring stakeholder relationships for Sage.
Stephen joined the Sage Board as an independent Non-Executive Director in November 2019, offering over 35 years of senior executive experience across the private housing and construction sector. He is currently the Residential Sector Leader at Laing O’Rourke. Previously, Stephen was a Non-Executive Board Director of Aster Group and Chair of Aster Remunerations Committee, a Governing Board member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, a member of the Greater Manchester Planning & Housing Commission and was on the Advisory Panel for the Farmer Review into the Construction Industry. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
Rod became Interim Chief Executive Officer of Sage in April 2019. A well-known, respected and influential housing professional, Rod was Chief Executive of Catalyst Housing Group for over 26 years and oversaw the growth of the organisation from a 2,000-home west London housing association to a Group providing over 30,000 affordable homes, with a large development and regeneration programme. During his time at Catalyst Rod was also Chair of Action West London and the Innisfree Housing Association, a Board Member of Amicus Horizon and Chair of the G15.
John joined Sage as Chief Financial Officer in September 2019. Prior to joining Sage, John was CFO of Welltower Inc (NYSE:WELL), the world’s largest healthcare REIT. Prior to becoming CFO, John led Welltower’s international operations, doubling the size of its business to over $6bn in value during his tenure. Prior to Welltower, John spent 18 years as an investment banker at Deutsche Bank and Barclays Capital, holding senior level roles in healthcare investment banking and M&A advisory.
Prior to joining Sage, Bridget worked as a corporate and governance lawyer for ten years in large city practices. She advised real estate companies, including registered providers, on a diverse range of governance and corporate issues, including mergers and acquisitions. Bridget acted for Sage whilst she was in private practice since 2016 and joined Sage permanently as Head of Legal and Company Secretary in January 2018.
Angela joined Sage in June 2019, arriving with a wealth of HR knowledge. With over 20 years of experience gained in top retail brands - including Tesco, Dixons Carphone and Arcadia, Angela is a seasoned People, Culture and Results-focused HR Leader.
